How much Vitamin D do I need?
The current recommended intake of vitamin D is 200 IUs (international units) for those up to age 50; 400 IUs for people 51-70; and 600 IUs for those older than 70.
How long do I need to stay out in the sun to get the recommended intake?
Experts say going outside in the midday sun for 10 to 15 minutes with your arms and legs exposed will produce 10,000 IUs.

more likely to die early than those with normal levels. They were also found to be 45 percent more likely to develop coronary artery
disease and 78 percent were more likely to have a stroke.

Never Turn Orange Again!
Although most self tanners don’t include Erythrulose because of its high cost, when combined with DHA, the resulting sunless tan is said to last longer, fade better, and provide a more cosmetically pleasing color tone.
The ingredients: Stearic Acid, Trethanolamine and Mineral Oil contain high pH levels.
If the pH level in a product is above 6%, the DHA (active ingredient) can turn you orange instead of brown.
Choose a gel over a cream.

Hampton Sun had the pleasure to participate in the NYC Baby Show this past weekend courtesy of Metropolitan Events and Productions at The Metropolitan Pavilion in Chelsea, NY. It was extremely successful with well over 1,100 attendees. The show brought in all types of mothers and family members looking to check out the latest in baby news, accessories, and gadgets. With giggles, cries, and burps in full audio, many crawled their way over to Hampton Sun’s table to find out how to paper themselves with the best ingredients for any mother, or mother-to-be. “Privet Bloom was flying off the table as well as our SPF 15 Super Hydrating Face Cream, Shimmer Sprays, and Sunless Tanners,” said Salvatore Piazzolla. Attendees were urged to test the products as well as purchase them. Ooo’s and Ahh’s were not only coming from the little ones at this successful event.
Astra from 106.1 BLI had the amazing opportunity to interview American Idol finalist Adam Lambert at Nassau Coliseum. The video that was posted yesterday on You Tube caused quite the stir!
